March15: 'Touch down' (CD-Review 'swissdisc. Ch') ...Klaus has his own personal view of what pop music should sound like. That brings him close to the deep art pop of the Nits, the Dutch band. In 'Camelia', a short glimmer of Mark Knopfler even shines through. However, musical reduction is by no means the Basel musician's thing. In the track 'Sitting on a Cloud', a touch of modern electronic filters through with a pinch of funk jazz. 'Long Day' surprises the listener with a rough guitar riff, while 'Winter Night' is infused with a smooth jazzy bass. Felix Klaus blends these elements and his perceptions into reflective, artistic and, most of all, profound songs that accompany the listener a long time after the record stops. (Robert Pally/T. C.
