3manisha is a musical trio from New Orleans, Louisiana, a town that has always been a musical goldmine. The meeting of diverse cultures in this once cosmopolitan city gave her musicians a distinctive voice, decades before the first jazz notes were ever played. Over a century later, New Orleans is still full of musicians who are masters at many different styles. Young musicians from all over the world are drawn to this musical melting pot, eager to listen and absorb these foreign rhythms and melodies. This is the nature of 3manisha, a trio made up of some talented musicians from different parts of the country. Matt Rhody (violin), John Lutz (bass), and Richard Scott (accordion) share their understanding of a wide variety of musical styles on their debut album, Late Lunch. You will hear them play examples of American folk music, Celtic, French Musette, Ragtime, Klezmer, Jazz, and Tango, to name a few. They play some well-known pieces and some great original songs as well. To make it even better, they called upon a great number of their musical friends to join them. Guitarists, percussionists, string players, and brass players from all over are well represented on this album, each contributing his or her own voice. The whole musical bouquet is tied together by the rich harmonies generated by the accordion and violin. The members of the trio are like masters of ceremony, your hosts on a tasteful tour of traditional music. This album was made with passion and love, and a desire to share some of the world's greatest melodies with any interested listener.
