Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 continues the strategic, turn-based battles of its predecessor with an all-new storyline and cast of characters. Once again players can collect, customize, and fuse demons to assist them in battle. Players will also develop relationships and bonds with party members to improve their chances of success. Yet if a character falls in combat, he or she is permanently removed from the party. Mortality also serves as a central theme in the story, which revolves around a strange website that shows deaths before they occur. When three students witness footage of their own demise, they take steps to avoid it, inadvertently opening up a portal to a demon dimension.
