Although handheld editions of the series have fared well on Sony's PlayStation Portable, the 3DS' Tekken 3D Prime Edition is only the second Tekken game to appear on a Nintendo platform of any sort. The first was Tekken Advance for GBA, which challenged the precedent that sophisticated fighting games couldn't work on a small screen with simplified controls.
