Continuum Shift Extend is a 2D fighting game that serves as an enhanced update to 2010's BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, offering new game types, characters, and tweaks. Twenty-three storylines are available, each following an individual fighter and offering multiple endings to enhance the game's replay value. By completing each character's scenario, players will be able to unlock a final story that wraps up the BlazBlue narrative. New to this specific version of the game are stories for characters Makoto Nanaya, Valkenhayn R. Hellsing, Platinum the Trinity, and Relius Clover. Other notable changes include revamped combat mechanics for each character, an improved online multiplayer component, and updated play options.
