Aaron Bishop's debut album " The Calm Electric", combines elements of folk, rock, pop and blues. Produced by Braddon Gilbert ( You am I, Budd ) at "Get on Down " studios on the Gold Coast of Australia, Aaron's songs are inspired by years spent travelling, and the beauty and mystery of the natural world and our place within it. At the age of 18, Aaron began playing guitar, and soon after studied at The Australian Institute of Music. Together with his friends, they formed the band "Icarus Eye" and toured the East coast of Australia, along the way supporting such bands as Silverchair, Frenzal Rhomb and The Hanging Tree. After the group disbanded in 1998, he set off with a backpack and an acoustic guitar to travel the world. He would later record demos in London, Edinburgh, Tokyo and in 2005, Aaron recorded an E.P " Bishop", with acclaimed producer and virtuoso Parris McLeod. For the future, Aaron plans to " continue to write emotionally charged songs, and collaborate with other songwriters and musicians".
