This Music is inspired by the life of Turlough O Carolan, the blind Irish harpist whose glorious approach to melody has visited us through the ages. Filling the well of the subconscious Celtic memory that exists in us all with his pure vision of musicality and connecting us with another side of our humanity. CELTIC INSPIRATION draws on the ancient traditions of Celtic Music to evoke the spirit of the natural world. Bringing the peaceful tranquility of the Lochs and Highlands into your living room to enable you to connect with the wonderful energy of the Celtic traditions. All music written arranged performed recorded and produced by Andrew Brel and Hugh Burns in Riverbank Studio, Hampton Court during 2007. On this recording Hugh is playing his Maldanado guitar for the principal melodies. Other instrumentation that appears on this album: Kohno, Larrivee nylon strung, Taylor PS555 12 string, Gibson J300 and a Hathaway mandolin. Microphone recording of acoustic guitars using a vintage AKG valve mic. Tracks all completed on a beefed up Mac running Logic Pro with numerous plug ins. Zoe Zak, 17, appears on two tracks. With special thanks to Alan Tarney for his typically fabulous vocal on 'Breathe'.
