Soundtrack of the Apocalypse[CD]
Alowishious Farhatt Alowishious Farhatt was assembled late in the year of 2001 when local high school musicians Rick Patoray, Kenny Thomas and Zach Bossart decided they needed to revive the soul of rock and roll. Paying homage to their musical inspirations, the trio started off by adapting classic rock, blues, and country tunes. The first song they learned as a band, Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire,' was quickly transformed into an up-tempo, rockabilly thrill ride. At that point the band knew what direction they wanted to head with their music. The band started playing in local clubs and bars in the Northern VA area, their setlist including an extremely wide variety of music genres such as Classic Rock, Rockabilly, Blues, Country, 50's Doo Wop, and old timey Rock and Roll. They bestowed upon themselves the title 'Alowishious Farhatt.' 'Alowishious' was a name inspired by a line in a Primus song as well as a name mentioned in the film 'O Brother Where Art Thou,' while 'Farhatt' was a name that Patoray saw on a job application at a local restaurant he worked at. Alowishious has something for everyone. They play tunes from a variety of bands and musicians, going all the way back to the Jerry Lee Lewis, Dion and the Belmonts, The Stray Cats, The Beatles, CCR, The Doors, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, to others such as Tom Petty, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pink Floyd, and U2, all the way to Nirvana, Weezer, Sublime, Radiohead, Reverend Horton Heat, and Tenacious D. Further into their career, Alowishious started producing original music, clashing the sounds of their Classic Rock, Blues, and Rockabilly influences with Modern Rock and even 90's Grunge. The result was an incredibly unique Rock and Roll sound with an old school twist. In early 2005, the band started their first full original album, 'Soundtrack of the Apocalypse.' Songs such as 'Don't Go Down There' and 'Nothing Nice to Say' quickly became crowd favorites. 'Soundtrack of the Apocalypse' is available to purchase online at CDBaby.com and is also available at any of the band's live shows. The Alowishious song catalog now contains over 140 cover songs in addition to their original material. The band can be seen at many DC area venues including T.T. Reynolds, The Sunset Grille, Grog and Tankard, Fat Tuesday's, Ri Ra's Irish Pub, Cheeseburger in Paradise, JV's, Sharpshooters, and the Clubhouse to name a few. If you live in the DC area, come rock your socks off with Alowishious and remember what rock and roll is all about.
