Product Notes

Ever wonder what it would be like to attend an exorcism completely stoned? In 2008, a bunch of lackeys came together in Chicago to make up The Back Chords: A Rock and Roll trio with an affinity for good tunes, broken glass and bloody rubber chickens. Their debut album Transients, Reprobates and Ingrates is a celebration for listeners who crave the jagged teeth of Black Sabbath, the comic originality of Ween and the psycadelia of The 13th Floor Elevators. At high volumes, the intensity is palpable. When the onslaught ceases, their metallic aggression morphs into catchy tunes that stick in the head. The Back Chords spent the majority of 2008 in a windowless studio and rehearsal room. Now, with an extended catalogue of songs and a stage show that borders on theatrical, The Back Chords will take to the bandstand in 2009 bringing with them an all-out audio assault. With another record due to drop in June of 2009, The Back Chords aim high looking to bring about the end of civilized society- one note at a time.
