Bayani Mendoza de Leon likes to call himself a planetary explorer and shape-shifter. Composer, musician, poet, short story writer, ethnomusicologist, scholar of Asian arts and culture, and martial artist, Bayani has Bachelor degrees in journalism, philosophy, and music composition, and an M.A. in avant-garde music from the University of California in La Jolla, San Diego. As a long-time student of ancient wisdom, he has lectured and conducted workshops on esoteric music. His soul journey has led him to compose deeply esoteric and large-scale works such as 'Revelations,' a 7-movement piece for orchestra based on the Bible's opening of the seven seals; 'Atlantis,' for orchestra, dance, and chorus; 'The Talisman,' a contemporary allegorical ballet, and 'Aquarian Visions,' a meditation music inspired by a 14th century monastic chant. Bayani is listed in Grove's International Dictionary of Music and Musicians.
