The Beau Band is a solid, high-energy, hard-edged pop/rock/alternative unit. Their tunes are catchy and illustrated with flawless harmonies... while Alquizola's soulful voice is rich and full of versatility. The Beau Band have made themselves known throughout the greater Cincinnati area with regular live performances and positive recognition in the local press. Be sure and catch them, while you can! History: Beau Alquizola started as a soul singer in the early 1990s. He developed his songwriting skills while singing in an r&b group based out of Tampa/Orlando. In 2000, Beau teamed up with Tampa producer J Soul for the release (via internet) of the 'Move On' EP. The single 'Better Than Me' was an 'on fire' debut...at number 15 on MP3's pop charts. The 'Move On' EP displayed a mixture of pop, r&b, hip hop & reggae; and Beau's rich vocal arrangements were reminiscent of the Motown era. In 2002, he released 'The Jay Songs' EP. Here, Beau's collaboration with Cincinnati guitarist/producer Jeff Conner led to the acoustic based, rock oriented sound that Alquizola is now known for. In 2004, Beau hit the Cincinnati live performance scene with his former acoustic pop/rock duo 'CoBo Moon.' In Jan 2005, Beau officially went solo as a live performer. In April of 2005, guitarist Ben Schummer came on-board as a fill-in for one event. From there, he continued to perform as accompaniment for Beau at most of his shows (if not all). And by the end of 2005, he became one of Alquizola's primary songwriting partners. Ben also serves as director of Alquizola's band. Also, Joan Schneder stepped in to sing back-up for a song or two in December of 2005. By the fall of 2006, she became the Alquizola ensemble's primary background vocalist. In addition, Sharon Udoh made her sneak attack on piano in August of 2005. A month later, bassist sensation Noah Diamond and drummer J Matt 'the machine' Retherford entered the picture. Finally, 'the Beau Band' was formed. Currently, Beau resides in Cincinnati and his first full-length album 'Please Keep the Door Closed' was released in November of 2005. The follow-up album 'Unbalanced' was released in December of 2006 and includes 'the Beau Band' line-up. Beau also sings the theme song to the popular webcomic 'Angel Moxie.' His performances at the MidPoint Music Festivals (2004-2007) were well attended and well received.
