A native of Newark, New Jersey, Bob's early introduction to the piano inspired him to write songs of his own -- pounding out tunes in the living room of his parents' small apartment as early as age 4 (God help the neighbors). It was at college in Boston during the folk-rock renaissance of the '80s that August kicked his songwriting into high-gear, melding his melodic McCartney-esque influence with the acoustic sounds of the day. Eventually he arrived back in the Big Apple, writing songs & gigging around Manhattan & North Jersey by night. By day, August could be heard on New York radio -- & occasionally seen on TV (including a cameo performing the 'Lumberjack Song' at the end of Monty Python's 20th anniversary video -- replete with '80s hair & Roger McGuinn specs). The tracks on 'Christmas Here' were recorded in Nashville in 2002. There was only enough material for an extended EP but they sounded pretty damn good so we decided to release the effort as is & knock a few dollars off the price. Enjoy.
