In this already overpopulated hip-hop industry, few have the potential to shine over the overcrowding of emcees. Caligula has that potential.Fueled by his anger of being force-fed mediocre, diluted hip-hop from most, Caligula is inspired to constantly advance and evolve his style. Caligula, named after the notorius opponent slaying emperor, has taken the name because of his cut-throat style. Though rough at times Caligula is also very versatile with anti-political views, conceptual songs, thought provoking lyrics and punchlines. Although particular about the hip-hop he takes in, he has been influenced by such artists as GZA, Pharoah Monch, and Chino XL. Caligula has stayed in different cities for periods of time such as Atlanta, New York, Houston and New Orleans. He has heard many different styles and always tries to stay steps ahead of the competition. Caligula's first album, the indy smash 'Clone Killer' has been released on Long Range Distribution. It features Aesop of Living Legends, Kimani of Masterminds, Cadence of Raw Produce, Pathethic of Creepozoids and Lyrikill of Euphonetiks. His second album called 'War Games vol. 1' is scheduled for release in mid 05' and will feature R.A. The Rugged Man, Monsta Island Czars, production from Demigodz and more. Caligula has been featured on mixtapes such as Blitz Series, Lyrical Graphiti, Eupham presents, and will be on hiphopsite.com's Preemptive Hype Series. Caligula also has a small part in the Sundance Film Festival's indy hit 'Becoming Vex.' If you havn't heard of this cat yet you will very soon.
