CAPITAL EXPRESSWAY BIOGRAPHY Capital Expressway is an interesting and eclectic new three piece band whose members live in San Francisco, California and Sydney, NSW. The band consists of Lord Muck, guitars, bass, drums and vocals, Sally De Jesus, bass, guitars, drums and Kimball organ, and Sharon De Milo, vocals and percussion. Their debut album 'Capital Expressway' released on Endtime/Shempworld records, was recorded in three days, in December 2004. The record, while rough around the edges in places, conveys a lot of fun and enjoyment. Not your average angst ridden, grunge, indie release, this CD has some fun and bizarre moments, including 'The Ballad of Mrs. N', a song which was composed entirely on the spot, to the accompaniment of the amazing Kimball Swinger 700 organ, which the band found abandoned on the street one afternoon. Lord Muck takes the vocals for that, whilst most of the rest of the album is sung by Sharon De Milo, who also plays percussion. Other stand out tracks include 'You're My Baby', 'Daddy Woke Me Up', and 'Are You Going to the KPFA Fair', a disdainful look at the annual 'hippie fair' run by San Francisco's radical left wing radio station KPFA. It's a fresh, new, and totally unpretentious approach that makes Capital Expressway the band to watch in the next year or two. This group has a lot of great musical ideas that defy popular conventions, sometimes in a very strange manner indeed, but ultimately in an entertaining way.
