Cecili is what you get when u uproot a curious, restless, damsel from the deep south and reissue her a new existence as a bohemian futuristic traveler throughout various times and foreign lands. Her father was a soldier in the US Army that had a love for jazz. And soul music and introduced her to these and other genres in her early childhood. Cecili would read liner notes of Prince, Chaka Kahn and Rufus, John Coltrane and all the other albums in her father's collection while he played music on the weekends throughout her childhood. As time passed she would later add more varying artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Bjork, The Police, Sade, Cat Power, Jill Scott, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Mary J Blige, Erykah Badu..and many more. Her first release entitled 'Automatic Nomadic' has a dual meaning: truths, discoveries and obscure thoughts from the life of a born nomad; as well as collaborations by the artist herself with various producers around the world. This self-titled 'Girl from all around the world,' Cecili hails from Atlanta, Georgia and is currently based out of Harlem performing in and around the NYC area.
