"Talking about my compositions is not necessary because all my composition are happening while I am playing the guitar. I don't compose like classical composers. Fretless guitar: The youngest member of the guitar family, still developing and open to experimentation. The way I perceive the fretless guitar has to do with my roots. The Anatolia region of Turkey can be regarded as a land of wars, migrations and love - probably the reason why Turkish makams always feel blue. Fretless guitar inspires someone like me, who has studied jazz but has not forgotten his origins. One of my ideals is to further develop this instrument, which enables a musician to play almost all kinds of ethnic music with ease. Speaking in the language of fretless guitar, and nothing other than that, will enable me to underscore the relations between the East and the West...... Cenk Erdogan.
