This soulful crooner was born and raised in Detroit in the 50's and 60's which were the Motown years. Having always had a passion to sing, Charles ignored his calling and set out on a life of drugs and the pursuit of instant gratification. His ungodly quest led to brushes with the law and after years of sorrow and grief Charles turned his life over to God. He knows whereof he sings and his original songs reflect his experience. Growing up in Detroit Charles was exposed to a myriad of musical influences many of which can be heard on this CD. Musical acts from the Temptations, Drifters, Lou Rawls, Sam Cooke, to the inspirational wailings of the likes of The Clouds of Joy, and the Hawkins Family. Charles was blessed with a range that can only be described as phenomenal. You will love his moving Tenor voice on such selections as "God Has Made a Difference", and "Increase My Faith". His rich baritone will give you chills on "It's a New Day" and "How Great Thou Art". An ordained minister, Charles' lyrics reflects his knowledge of the Bible and will feed and inspire the soul. "Count It All Joy" summarizes James chapter one, and "God Created" recounts the Genesis creation account. There is no doubt about it, Charles is a teacher and his songs will provide insights as well as have you tapping your feet for hours.
