SAMA 2008 BEST MALE ARTIST nominee Chris Chameleon impressed both his audiences and critics alike with his acclaimed production Klassieke Chameleon and received numerous standing ovasions for this superbly produced show at the Volksblad Festival, Cultivaria Festival and Aardklop in 2007, as well as at KKNK in Oudtshoorn 2008. Klassieke Chameleon yet again showcases Chris's extraordinary diversity as an artist. Chris adds a classical flair to his music by performing with excellent musicians that accompanies him on cello, violin, flute, piano, guitar and with percussion. Chris performs new classical arrangements of his own hits including "Eerste Oogopslag"; "Sterredank", "Die Onverkrygbare", "Bitterbessie Dagbreek", "OOAA" and "Saved". Chris also takes his audience on a journey of emotions ranging from nostalgia to immediate musical delight with special renditions of timeless classics including "O sole mio", "Here comes the night" and "Sunrise Sunset." Chris ends the Klassieke Chameleon show with the special inclusion of "Die Onse Vader." Klassieke Chameleon was recorded live on DVD at the Aula Theatre in Pretoria on 26 and 27 January 2008. Both shows were attended by more than a thousand fans. Director André Calitz from Blixem Productions and his technical team filmed both shows and perfectly captured every aspect of the stylish flair and rich velvet feel of the show. Look out for special guest artist Lize Beekman, who joins Chris on stage for a soulful duet of "Ek vir Jou". Klassieke Chameleon DVD has the unique added value feature of sub titles in both English and Afrikaans, which makes this DVD accessible to an international audience. Klassieke Chameleon has also just been released on CD. This is the first Chris Chameleon CD on which the full scale of his mesmerizing four-octave voice-work can be heard. A must have for all fans and a revelation to everyone that has not seen any of Chris's live performances yet. Truly an aural feast!
