Award-winning pianist, arranger and composer Colette Call currently resides in Salt Lake City, UT. For the last 10 years, Colette has worked as the Director of Music for the Youth Enrichment Foundation (YEF), an organization established to bring music and art to children who are economically disadvantaged. Thanks to the generosity of the YEF sponsors, Colette and the music staff under her direction teach piano lessons and general music to over 600 children each year. In addition to this full time job, Colette maintains a private studio, works as a recording artist and performs regularly at local ski resorts. Colette's performance career began early as she successfully competed in local and national piano competions winning the Kawai Piano Competition, the Utah State Fair, and the Arlette Day Competition. In High School, Miss Call composed her first work, a short concerto, and won honorable mention in the Utah Symphony 5000th composition competition. At the age of 18, Colette was recognized nationally as one of only sixteen U.S. recipients of the National Kochanski Award for Superior Musicianship. Former teachers include Dr. Bonnie Gritton, Robert Smith, Norene Emerson, and Marolyn Frogley. While Colette's first love may be playing the piano, the most rewarding experiences of her career have come through composition. In 2002, Miss Call released the CD 'Power in His Touch', which includes original vocal, orchestral, and solo works. The CD received rave reviews from listeners and critics alike and immediately won a coveted Pearl Award for 'Best Holiday Song.' Music from 'Power in His Touch' can regularly be heard on various radio stations. Three years after the release of the CD, the completed musical premiered at the Jeanne Wagner Theatre to sold-out audiences. An outstanding cast, featuring David Osmond as one of the leads, brought the crowd to their feet every night and the newspaper reviews were all favorable. The musical was revived the following year on the same stage and has has since been produced on two other stages as well. 'Power in His Touch' has now been viewed by more than 10,000 audience members. Colette has also has recorded two solo piano CDs of her favorite melodies.
