Craig's 2nd CD is aptly titled Rediscovery. What the title doesn't reveal, however, is that his latest CD goes in a much different musical direction than his 2004 release, what words couldn't say. And the direction he has chosen to go in is rewarding and enjoyable for the listener! What you'll notice right away on this disc is his sharpened ability to write a clever melody. Never one to shy away from a key change, his blend of strong melodies mixes hypnotically with space age sounds and electronic layers of ambience to create a fresh, new sound. What is also present on Rediscovery is a healthy mix of uptempo, 'danceable' songs, quite absent from his first release and quite appreciated on this one. Be prepared to walk away humming one, two, or even three of these songs after one listen. Also be prepared to be moved to tears. Songs She Never Heard, It's Love, and Last Time, are haunting piano orchestrations that remind us of the raw emotion one feels after the loss of a loved one. These songs reflect Craig's perspective after his mother passed away in 2005. Craig comments,'My mother never got to hear a single song on this CD. I remember playing bits and pieces of these songs on an inexpensive keyboard that I took to her apartment a few months before she died. I would play for her while I fixed her dinner, and she always appreciated the live music in her apartment. It was when I was playing the melody that would eventually become the song, Songs She Never Heard, that she completely broke down. When I asked what was wrong, she told me that she would never get to hear me play my music again.' And with that said, get ready for Craig's emotion-filled and infectious collection of music that will have you moving in your seat one moment and somberly reflective the next. Rediscovery is a glorious chapter in his musical career!
