CRAZY FOR JANE Crazy for Jane is about Jane, about being crazy for Jane, about siblings and the protagonist of their imagination whom they have sworn to travel the world to serenade. Josepha and her brother Philipp grew up in Frankfurt am Main and Chicago, and are currently based in Berlin where the gloomy city of Brecht and historical upheaval inspires their songs. Their music is a desperate serenade underneath your window. It is pop and folk and sometimes a little jazz. Their songs are fun and poetic and their harmonies unusual and at times dissonant. Their debut album 'Desperate Serenade' was released in June 2006. Their 2nd album 'Watermelon Cloud', which they released this July, is about sharing food, about family, about friends, about fictional worlds and most of all about Jane. The album was recorded in the winter of 2006 with close friends of the Crazy for Jane siblings in their former home-town Chicago. Even though Crazy for Jane is mostly known as a duo and known for their quirky performances and sweet harmonies, this album expands the family. The arrangements still give room to the story telling nature of the songs and create sweet instrumental worlds to color the many images that the songs evoke. The result is a beautiful warm sounding album that is filled with humor, with nostalgia and poetry.
