Cutty Sark were formed in 1996 as part of the Robert Burns bi centennial celebrations by Ronnie Hunter and Danny McClymont. Ronnie and Danny worked as a duo for two years performing all over Scotland in clubs and hotels and the majority of this first audience for Cutty Sark were fans of Danny & Ronnie. The project idea was to take some of Robert Burns poems and lyrics and compose new melodies and arrangements for the live performance. From the success of the live show the band then toured Scotland and produced their first album 'The Ploughman's Son' which contains twelve of the songs performed in the live show. A second album soon followed which includes original songs written by Danny & Ronnie, the title track for this album 'The Story Teller' gives you the theme for the album which is stories old and new about Scotland. Cutty Sark's style of Celtic rock is representative of the diversity in Scottish music today and we are sure that you will enjoy their music, genuine originality is a rare commodity and we think that you will find this in the music of Cutty Sark. Cutty Sark performed their last show on the 12th August 2002 at Pitlochry town hall and would like to thank the fans that supported them over the years. Danny is now singing with a club band and Ronnie has produced two solo albums and has taken his brand of Scottish music to Canada and the USA he now lives in Perth where he operates Castledean Records.
