Donnie "D-Rock" Boone: Born: 1987 Place: Chicago, IL His story is unlike any other, No he wasn't born into poverty though he did come from the Westside of Chicago, and He lived with both parents and was the youngest of 8 kids (6 whole sisters and brothers & 1 half-brother). His birth was something of a miracle. Born two months premature doctors told His parents he wouldn't survive. However His mom & dad stood on God's word and prayed for him every day.......His mother would go so deep as to having prayer service with the nurses who looked after Donnie so no negative word from anyone would come into his presence. One night while praying his mother heard the voice of God say to her through a scripture in the bible (Jeremiah 29:11-14) where it was promised to her that God knew the thoughts he had toward her son, thoughts of good and not of evil, thoughts and plans to bring him to an expected and successful end. By April of 1988 Donnie came home and grew in the teachings of God's word by his parents. By the age of 6 Donnie's mother began home schooling him, during one of the classes she thought of a way to teach him music; Her oldest son wrote two raps for the church they attended years before Donnie was born, called I'M BLESSED & TRY GOD. Donnie's mother taught them to him and he learned them instantly. From there he began rapping them in local church talents shows and events. This caught the eye of a lot of people who were visiting the church he rapped in; they invited him to their churches for their youth group celebrations. Donnie ended up rapping in almost every church in the Chicago land area. As time went on Donnie developed his own talent and gift of writing poems and songs. Given the name Barock (which means Halleluiah) by his older brother Torrez, Donnie began plans on starting his own rap career. At the age of 16; by then he changed his name to D-Rock (which means DEDICATED REPRESENTATION OF CHRIST'S KINGDOM) Donnie began recording songs in his brother's studio. However things seemed to be getting no where but D worked as hard as ever. By 18 the Lord reminded Donnie of His promise made to his mother many years ago about the thoughts and plans he had for Donnie. D-Rock ran with that, in December of 2006 He joined up with RJ Young (co owner of YOUNGBUCK PRODUCTIONS) who produced two of Donnie's first singles off His upcoming album BORN AGAIN. In 2007 it is promised by D-Rock that this album will pave the way for Christian Hip-Hop music, He also promises that the songs will touch people in a way that shares what God brought him through and what Jesus Christ can do for all of us if we just trust and believe in what The Bible says: IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST; HE IS A NEW CREATION, BEHOLD THE OLD THINGS ARE GONE & EVERYTHING IS MADE ANEW.
