From the streets of Louisville emerge 2 hip hop artists whose style has yet to be labeled. If one had to reach out for a style, I would say that their style is FUNK/HOP with a Street Edge. J-Rock, and A.P. aka 'DA-Spliph'. These two stage addicts have been putting it down on the underground scene for the last 10 yrs. Being no strangers to celebrity status, having rocked venues ranging from arena's to small clubs touring with larger names from back in the day such as South Central Cartel, Spice1, Scarface, and the list goes on. Following the split up of their once 5 member group KAOS, They went to work for Russell Simmons & the much highly respected Def Jam Recordings as marketing reps, When that job ended, they decided to form DA-Spliph, a street slang used to describe the joint, or the bomb, like chronic. Being the bond between sheets & fire, J-Rock (sheets), A.P.(fire), they have concocted their first release, 'Classy Thugz', the debut album on their own indie label, Avalanche Records. The first single, 'Haters,' is already creating a small buzz. 'This song is a slap in the face for all playa haters', says A.P. 'Classy Thugz' takes us on a ride through different moods of 'Da-Spliph'. 'Music itself is moody', says J-Rock. 'We make our music according to how we feel. Sometimes we may feel like we in party mode, sometimes we might feel hard, or sometimes we may be on some laid back shit. Classy Thugz is a bit of both worlds. Sometimes Classy, sometimes thuggish, with the ability to turn it on or off at any given time.' With J-Rock on the boards, and A.P.'s lyrical attack, the sheets & fire bond will give a feeling far better than any weed stick can provide for any smoker and non smoker. These two plan to hang around for a while so strap in for safety, and enjoy the ride. Classy Thugz features appearances by Southern Komfort, Big Love, Abu, Keith Miller Jr.(lil reddy) and more! Rated Hott! So pick it up!
