'This solo project will attest to his ability with the banjo. He has made himself into a fine player. He has all the basic 'licks' plus some originality, and he learns very quickly. When combined, these ingredients will create a style..one which you, the listener and player, will recognize as soon as he begins playing'. ~Sonny Osborne 9-16-2006 'Among our finest young banjoists, East Tennessess's Daniel Grindstaff, looks to the past for his inspiration, but brings personality and a fresh approach to bluegrass. He's Popping the strings one moment, coaxing out an emotive turn the next. With cracking guest vocals, Grindstaff demonstrates that he's a player of determination and character. 'Aprils Fool' artfully captures his vision of bluegrass'. ~Bluegrass Now- November 2007.
