'Silhouette' is the result of a year of composing and arranging. Original compositions, ranging from 'noir jazz' to flamenco, comprise almost half the album, while the other half features tunes rarely played on guitar, such as Waltz for Debby (a transcription of the original recording by Bill Evans) and Delicado (a choro, imbued in this arrangement with a decidedly Spanish flavor). Though the theme is dark, 'Silhouette' ends on an optimistic note; the somber rondeña segues into an up-tempo bulerias, echoing the first tune.
