Deanna Haughey began her love of music early in life. She was classically trained on piano starting at five, and her vocal training began at age ten. She continued to train and perform throughout school, being featured in several 'Gilbert and Sullivan' musicals as well as taking part in an all female acapella group called the 'Madri-gals', who performed everything from Broadway tunes to Handel's Messiah. A self-taught guitarist and avid songwriter, Deanna has been involved in many Houston bands. As a vocalist and songwriter, she performed early eighties style electronic dance music with 'Mais-La-Bouche'. Having unique tastes in music she sang back up vocals for a Latin salsa-jazz band, 'The Jalapeno's', and has played keyboards for several rock and pop acts, including 'Attica', 'Pinque', and 'Ashes'. For eight years, her band 'Sinister Sirens' performed throughout all of Texas, playing music ranging from electronic gothic dance, evolving to a more organic live rock band sound. Not only was Deanna the lead vocalist, songwriter, keyboard player, and rhythm guitarist, she served as band leader, manager, and booking agent. Her latest project is 'Descent Into Madness', a dark rock band with an edge. Deanna's eclectic musical taste and ability have given her a variety of styles to perform. Occasionally sitting in with other bands, she has been doing solo venues for the past two years and she performs a multitude of her originals, including a unique variety of covers. She had a special opportunity to perform her original material with the house band at 'The House of Blues' in Las Vegas in May 2000. Having just recorded a 14 song, solo CD entitled 'The Garden' she plans to release it early 2002. You can see Deanna perform in many clubs throughout Houston and surrounding areas.
