Product Notes

What can I say about Dr.Tongue......... Well,it was my first real touring band..It was my own 'school of rock'...Pierre komen (Sax,Vox and wierd percussion), James JT Taylor (Trumpet, vox,Huge Hair,Handclaps), Marc Robichaud (guitar,French accent, wah pedal vox, smokes), Robert Grant (drums),Sometimes Clint Ryder on Bass or Tyson Maiko( tyson ALWAYS had great hair...still does to this day...) I was in this band for only a year or two... Unfortunately last year James JT taylor passed away...I wanted to get this album on CD Baby in hopes that more people will know of him.... all monies from this album will go to Carla Taylor;James' wife and his daughter. 'Vancouver blues musician James 'JT' Taylor, 33, has died and fellow band member Matt Pease is in hospital after their pickup struck a semi-trailer in Hope on Saturday. Taylor played upright bass and trumpet for the Twisters, a four-man blues band from Vancouver. Pease is the drummer. Taylor and semi driver Donald Galagun of Maple Ridge died at the scene of the accident. Pease, who was a passenger in the pickup, was airlifted to Vancouver with serious internal injuries. The other two band members, Dave 'Hurricane' Hoerl and Brandon Isaak were travelling in a car behind the pickup. Their car slammed into the pickup during the accident, but they escaped serious injury. They were treated in hospital for minor injuries and released. The Twisters were on their way to Prince George to play at the Blues Underground at the time of the crash. They were scheduled to play this week at Blues on Whyte in Edmonton. 'JT's talent, energy and showmanship while laying down his trademark 'meat and potatoes' bass lines have proved to be the cornerstone of the foundation of the Twisters' sound, ' said the Twisters' Vancouver-based agent Jeff Turner. 'James was a dear friend to us all and will be sorely missed.' Taylor, the father of a one-year-old child, was born in Vancouver and raised in Nanaimo. He had an eclectic musical background and played standup bass and trumpet in bands such Cousin Harley, the Pete Turland Band, the Du- Rite Aces, the Swingin Bachelors, Lionel Leroy Ward, People Playing Music and Dr. Tongue. He toured and recorded with the Twisters from 2001. The Twisters call themselves a 'party blues band' and have been recognized for their high-energy style. Their 2003 recording Long Hard Road earned a Juno nomination and a Canadian Independent Music Award for Best Blues Album. Taylor had a 2003 Maple Blues nomination for Best Blues Bassist. Pease, the newest member of the Twisters, has been playing drums for 18 years and has performed with Michael Kaeshammer, Hugh Fraser, Keith Bennett, Lee Aaron, Daniel Lapp, and Louise Rose, among others. Hoerl plays harmonica and sings, while Isaak is guitarist and singer.' Thanks for checking this out, Camille Miller.
