Straight from the Heart Acoustic Music to Feed You[CD]
Pam & Don McMahon love to love and they love to sing about love. The abundant love in our lives, beginning with our families of origin, extending through our co-created nuclear family and out into our global village, is the most precious gift we have received from the Source of All-That-Is. This is the gift that we extend to a world suffering from lack of it. All that exists in this world is energy vibrating at various frequencies, and sound is vibration, so everything is music. It is a universal channel of communication which transcends all boundaries of separation, goes straight for the heart, and resonates to the core of our Being. At a time in our history when chaos, darkness, fear, confusion, conflict and violence are predominant stimuli, each of us needs nurturing, love, joy and spiritual upliftment. We seek harmony and cohesion, resolution and peace, and so the gift comes Straight From The Heart, in original and borrowed songs of love and hope, blended in the spirit of Oneness, and honoring the Divinity in all of us. We are all connected and our music is dedicated to awakening the experience of unity among all Beings. These harmonies are triggers to expand our awareness of who we are and what is going on in the deeper levels of our Being - on a Soul level - hence 'acoustic music to feed your Soul.' Our relationship began in music 37 years ago in a jazz group, and over time we have evolved and changed. But the one thing that has remained constant is our connection to the power of sound and our harmonies. We both began singing as children. The music was a gift that each of us realized at a very early age. Church was a venue that helped us grow and gave us the experience of the sacredness of song. We were coming of age in the sixties and traded our R&B 45s for folk music. Vietnam sparked our anger and we raised our voices in songs of protest and cries for freedom. We found a medium for social commentary and callings for change. I guess some would still consider us folk singers. Our songs are earthy and real, simple and easy to relate to and they seem to appeal to any age group. For we seek the common ground, the language of the heart. Our music has been on the back burner while we raised our four sons and focused on family. But now we're back with the same old timeless message at a time when the world needs it as much if not more than in the sixties. Then we sowed the seeds of change and now we are here tending the plants which will bear the fruits of unity and peace. It is to this Oneness that we dedicate our music.
