DonnaLynn is Donna Lynn Davis with her husband Terry. They love to share music, so they're often joined by friends, both in performing and recording. In the sixties, a young Donna Lynn sang and played on the Main Street stage at the Pendleton Round-Up. In the seventies she played for on behalf of the families of Walla Walla State Penitentiary prisoners as part of a YWCA outreach program. The eighties and early nineties found her helping to manage hotels and resorts, but her guitar and notepad were never far away. In 1995 she left hotel management. She wasn't sure where her road would take her, but she knew music was going to be a big part of it. Fast forward to the present, to the release of her independent CD HeavenTown - and it's invitation to visit this place somewhere between the heart and the soul. You'll meet some of the inhabitants. You might even feel yourself emotionally drawn to Juanita, Frank (or is it Valentino?), or Michael Starr. Relax and watch the ocean from the Driftwood Bench, or just let The Wave wash over you. And you'll almost certainly want to play and feel the magic of Leonard's Guitar. There are 13 songs on HeavenTown - 11 are originals. The two covers represent a commitment to the community of music. "The Dave Carter cover is there because we loved Dave - his music, his friendship and his encouragement. And of course because we always liked Frank to Valentino so much. Cowboy and Songbird is a favorite song by a great Maui performer, Gail Swanson, who's also become a friend." Donna adds, "We were truly blessed to have so many musician friends bring their unique talents to our CD. Tracy Grammer's violin adds such tenderness. Kate Power and Steve Einhorn adding harmony to our songs is a special treat. And Tracy and Kate together on two songs - I think that's a first. But it all goes back to those magical connections that the music community grows. Will Hobbs' haunting harmonies, Neal Grandstaff's amazing electric guitar - and Randy Byrnes, master of the B3, transformed Close Tonight. Everyone was great." With streets full of songs to touch every heart, HeavenTown will have you visiting again and again.
