Drew Weir's one desire is to worship God with humility and with truth. He grew up in a family surrounded by music. For 14 years, his father, david weir, coordinated a well-known evangelistic Christian music group known as living sound. It was these singers and musicians who instilled in drew a desire to sing and play music. He first developed his talents by learning piano in britain, the country where the weir family is originally from. When drew moved back to the United States in 1991, he began his classical training on the double bass and became a member of oral roberts university orchestra as a freshman in high school. As a senior in high school, drew made a full commitment to serve God in every part of his life. God started opening doors for him to play in church and youth groups. In 1996, he started his college studies at o. r. u. and became a bass guitarist for the music ministry team. As a part of that group, he had the opportunity to witness God's mighty works moving across the nations of the world, in South Africa, Malaysia, and the United States, through the power of music and praise. He also started writing his first worship songs and was privileged to have one recorded for the o. r. u. worship album. In 2000, drew was asked to become the worship leader for family church of the nazarene in tulsa, ok. during this time, he developed his vocal abilities and acoustic guitar skills. After 3 years, drew had developed enough material to make a full album. Many of the songs were inspired through quiet times with God or came during worship times at church. With influences as wide as acoustic rock to latin jazz, drew wanted the CD to be as diverse and original as possible. The title of the album is 'reaching', he entered the single 'make in me a new creation' to the john lennon songwriting contest and came a runner-up in the gospel/inspirational category. Drew plans to have the album for sale by the summer. .
