EVM's (Ellis Vance Mission) new release, 'Initial Burn', is such a wide compilation of styles and influences; it's difficult to place in any one category. From the in your face rock beat of 'Living Life Today' to the smooth jazz sound of 'In their Eyes', it has something for everyone. The individual band members have years of experience in local and international performances with styles including country, rock, pop and jazz, both covers and originals. A stage performance by EVM is a visual interpretation of the studio quality sound of 'Initial Burn'. By this I don't mean the crazy jumping and running around the stage, so often seen by performers trying to cover up their inability to play, but an individual look, sound and collection of stage props to create a desired effect. The audience leaves a performance believing they have seen the CD.
