Mike Oldfield meets Frank Zappa in this offering from Emerald X. Emerald X has had a serious interest in music creation for only a short period of time, and it has resulted in this group of instrumental pieces that range from the hallucinogenic to acoustic rock with an insistent, classical feel. It is unlikely that Emerald X will make another album as Queen Be was produced merely as an exercise whilst recovering from a serious illness contracted will studying little known plant communities in a remote region of Madagascar. Emerald X brings to these works the same penetrating intelligence that has attracted so much critical acclaim for his mysterious art works in his native Australia. Although there are many aspects of music that he would like to explore further, such as alternative tunings/temperaments, it will have to wait until the completion of his studies in comparative religion and of the parasitic flora in the South West of Australia.
