About Encomia Encomia's conception came to life in the fall of 1998, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, when members, Mike Trujillo (guitar) and Casey Henson (drums) began jamming together. Fueled by a common love for heavy metal, they quickly began writing and developing their unique style. In 2001, they saw the addition of bassist Isaac Archuleta. With his unique and sporadic style of play, Encomia's music became even more technical and diverse and while their local music scene remained dormant, at the time, they continued to hone their skills and progress. After a three year hiatus, the band re-emerged, stronger and heavier than ever with the addition of Marc Beardsley on vocals! For their second show ever as a complete band, they managed to promote the pinnacle event that would help in reviving the local music scene in southwest Wyoming! Bringing in bands like: Internal Bleeding (Century Media), Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus (Relapse), and Strong Intention (Goodfellow). Since then, they've played shows with: Lye By Mistake, Try Redemption, Hell's Eden, The Miranda Project and I am The Ocean, (just to name a few.) Today, they are still hammering out brutal songs and have just released their debut self titled album, courtesy of Mountain Productions, which is available now at Graffiti Records in Rock Springs Wy. And soon available online.
