Raised in Guatemala, 'The country of the eternal spring' Erika has been writing songs since she was 7 years old. She Inherited the love for singing from her mother and love for stage and theater from her dad. She started by forming and being part of a kid's singing group, which performed at parties and special events. Erika then attended Guatemala performing arts academy studying Voice, acting and dance. She performed at different talent events and showcases, and won awards as a songwriter. She moved to South Carolina and got a scholarship based on academic excellence to study business and finish college there. After that she decided to get back into the game of entertaining, and her first passion, music, and moved to LA. In LA she has mainly done theater. Also a few commercials. In 2005 she recorded her first promotional album, which includes two English and two Spanish songs, all music and lyrics written by Erika. In this album in which she worked with music producer Ben Levine, Erika showcases her different styles as a singer and songwriter. The tunes vary from pop rock, to Latin pop, with even some country influences on them. By working with all these different styles, Erika is looking to show the audience her personal seal in each of the songs, and for the audience to identify her voice regardless of the music style. In 2010 Erika recorded two different projects with the help of producers Jonathan Merkel and Danny Osuna from Beat Chamber Records. In this two new albums Erika Combines English and Spanish in her lyrics, combining electronic sounds with Regaetton and latin beats. Her new album 'Bilingue' (Bilingual) will be realeased in 2011.
