Introduction to Almost Lost 'Almost Lost' started to take shape in December 2001, when Ewald rented a 4-track cassette recorder and listened and selected recordings that went back as far as the early 80's. After remixing and remastering a huge number of songs the idea was to make these recordings available for commercial release. After the recordings the project was put to rest for some time. Yet in the summer of 2004 Ewald again started to assemble a collection of those songs combining them with material more recently recorded. By November 2004 the collection and the project 'Almost Lost' was finished and ready for distribution. The anthology gives the listener a comprehensive overview of the music that Ewald has composed and recorded in the past two decades. Many of these songs have not been available for commercial release before. All songs were recorded in Ewald's home studio, which clearly through the years became better and on par with professional studios. Much of the older songs from the mid 80's contain a certain rawness and freshness that could only be captured in the loose atmosphere of the home studio. Ewald's urge for perfection make these songs still enjoyable and audible after so many years. So here it is: 'Almost Lost' an exiting journey in the musical world of Ewald Kegel!
