Buffalo, New York based R&B artists began performing in small night clubs in Western NY in the early 80's and became locally recognized after recording their first single "Here We Go Again". This ballad became a regional success climbing to number 12 on the local charts and remained on the charts for about 3 months. The success of this song prompted the group to write and record "The Exoutic Touch" album, which features the soulful vocals of Darrel Vaden and very much challenges the musical status quo. Until now The Exoutic Touch album was only available as a rare vinyl collectable. The Exoutics have great harmony arrangements on the ballad tracks and 70's funk that just rocks on the upbeat songs. The group does not have a traditional R&B sound. It's Soul & Funk that can't be duplicated. Recently inspired by the trend to recapture the "old school" soul music feel and repeated requests by fans to make "The Exoutics" songs available, the "Anything You Want Old School - Funk, Love & Soul" CD was released in 2006. The Exoutics' musical style is a cross of R&B and Old School Soul with light Jazz overtones. The soulful lead vocals are complemented with sweet background arrangements. The vocals are closely coupled with the music resulting in an almost playful interaction. In fact the instrumental conversations of the musicians remains a signature of the Exoutics musical performances. The Exoutics put their heart and soul into each performance. Their live performances are energetic, powerful and very entertaining. Their repertoire consist of original R&B and classic R&B cover songs. The group features: founder and lead guitarist Ron Walker along with Western NY Music award wining Bassist: Michael Pennick, keyboardist Wade Hawkins and the rich soulful vocals of Annette Batie'. The group is supplemented with accomplished musicians that regularly perform with prominent national artists.
