~ ANTICO / CAVAZZONI / FALCONE,FABIO ANTONIO
This Brilliant Classics release presents the complete output of two Italian Renaissance composers, Marco Cavazzoni and Andrea Antico. This recording of the first printed keyboard music in history presents a collection of Ricercars as well as sacred Motets and secular Chansons in transcription. The impression left by Cavazzoni tends towards a freewheeling grandeur, the surviving works of Andrea Antico more humane. Keyboardist Fabio Antonio Falcone uses three instruments: a harpsichord, a polygonal virginal and the organ of the Church of San Giuseppe, Montevecchio di Pergola.
