Fang Fang formed in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 2005. Headed by Tom Manns (former member of Philly punk band One-21) on guitar and vocals, Fang Fang was comprised of Jon Weldon on lead guitar, Fred Sheaffer on bass and Greg Lytle on drums. From 2005 to 2007 the four piece frequently performed at Philadelphia bar venues such as The North Star, The Khyber Pass, and Johnny Brenda's. In 2007 both Jon Weldon and Fred Sheaffer left the band just as recording of Fang Fang's first full length CD was being completed. Left with a significant member deficit, Fang Fang chose to replace only one musician and to move forward as a three piece. Tom Manns continued on guitar and vocals, Greg Lytle on drums and Chris Lyons took over as bass player. In the beginning of 2008 Fang Fang started their first national tour to promote their self titled CD, Fang Fang. From 2008 to 2010 Fang Fang continued to perform locally in the Philadelphia area until drummer Greg Lytle retired from the band to study film. Greg Lytle was replaced by Joe Ryan as drummer and Kenny Klein (also formerly of One-21 as well as Kill hands) joined as guitar player and percussionist. Currently Fang Fang is recording their second full length album tentatively titled Fang Fang 2.
