Fatnurse is the breakbeat alter ego of producer/engineer Matt Fisher from Birmingham The musical beginnings of Matt start at age 15 when he took up the guitar but quickly moved to the bass and then started playing in local bands in the rock genre. After quickly tiring of the deadend that was rock, Matt made the leap to electronic music spurred on by the sounds of artists such as NIN, Aphex twin and anything with a harder sound. The next 3 years saw Matt moving around many different genres trying to find a sound to call home. This sound came in the form of psytrance a sound straight from the free party scene. Matt developed his sound within the psytrance genre and made links with soundsystems where he was to play live PA's at parties and festivals bashing out hard dancefloor tunes with little more than a laptop and a few synths. Now working under the name Fatnurse, Matt is plumbing the depths of sound for low basslines and hammering drums to bring to the breakbeat dancefloor. The Fatnurse sound is designed for the dancefloor and has been acid tested at parties, bars, clubs and festivals for the last 3 years to great success.
