Felix Gomez 15969 SW 149th Terr. Miami, FL 33196 I, Felix Gomez, was born on December 7, 1963, in the city of Sancti Spiritu, Province of Las Villas, Cuba. On March 30, 1984, I arrived in the Untied States and began to work with various local groups in the Miami area. In 1986, I registered at Miami-Dade Community College where I took jazz piano lessons for two semesters with Professor Randy Tomasello. I also participated in the Miami-Dade Community College Jazz band, conducted by Professor John Georgini, playing concerts at various schools in the community. For the last few years I have been the pianist for shows for numerous Latin American artists such as: Camilo Sesto, Maria SerraLima, Maggi Carles, Meme Solis, and Nelson Ned, among others. In addition, I have had the pleasure of working with artists of such high acclaim as Nestor Torres, Duffy Jackson, Paquito D'Rivera, Steve Berrios, Jerry Gonzalez, Dave Valentin, Ira Sullivan and Arturo Sandoval, with whom I have traveled throughout Central Europe and Asia. I have participated i recordings such as 'I Remember Clifford' (1991 G.R.P. Records), 'Dance On'' (1993 G.R.P. Records-Grammy Award Artist), and 'Bolero Jazz' (1994 Sony Discos). Presently, I teach jazz piano lessons at both Miami-Dade Community College Kendall Campus, where I have taught since the fall of 1995, and Florida International University, University Park Campus, where I have taught since the fall of 1997 . Moreover, I am enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Miami Frost School of Music performing in the University of Miami sextet under the direction of Doug Bickel where I have participated in the North Texas Jazz Festival 2005 and was chosen as a double award winning for ' Best Soloist and Best Composition '.
