Film Noir were formed in the 2006 in Athens, Greece. Fronted by pianist and composer Andreas Symvoulopoulos and by singer, violonist, composer and lyricist Maria Remboutsika. First as a trio with Fergus Currie on Contrabass, gigged and improvised in several music places in Greece but the last 2 years formed as a quartet with the help of Thanasis Sofras on Doublebass and Yiannis Roussos on Drums. Their sound ranges from the personal expierence each musician in a form to (modern - european) jazz quartet (near the sound of ECM, Manos Hatzidakis, Bobo Stenson, Keith Jarrett, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Traditional Greek music, free jazz and so many others). This period (Jule - August 2008) mastering their 1st album.
