I\'ve been playing for a lot of years, not counting taking time out to raise a family. But thanks to encouraging friends and the inability to suppress my desire to create music anymore, I\'m back composing and recording music. Moving between photography, writing, advertising and music for years, the chickens have come home to roost and The Foolish Hearts\' first album is the result. Raised during a time when the music on the radio didn\'t suck, and the Beatles ruled the world, I fell in love with the Buffalo Springfield and all the stuff that came from there, along with a special affection for David Crosby. In fact, I\'ve worn out a few vinyl copies and two CDs of the first DC album \'If I Could Only Remember My Name.\' That album is a masterwork of recording and engineering as well as a who\'s who of the early 70\'s California music scene. Along the way came a Deadhead phase, then I fell in love with British progressive rock of the 70\'s, especially Yes, Genesis until they became a pop machine, King Crimson, and especially Gentle Giant. After all those years of acoustic music playing (OK, and a little bass) I couldn\'t produce the sounds I was listening to and just pushed the guitars under the bed. Supposedly, John Lennon once said \'Life is what happens while you\'re busy making other plans.\' Whether that\'s his quote or not, one day I just had to get the guitars out again and the songs started coming out. Not as simple as today\'s pop, not as complex as my prog heroes, it\'s still fun and I had help from a whole lot of fine people to make it happen, including my very patient and tolerant wife, Cindy; my grandparents who taught me to respect my voice, friends Michelle Leonardo who helped move my creeping creation process along (and packs a big voice of her own!) and Nancy Fried for the memories; Josh and Bob, who contributed more than they know to my confidence and helped with arrangements and the sound; and Art, Ritch & Chrissie for being genreous with their talents to do things I couldn\'t sing or play (never was a lead guitar dude). So Enjoy the first Foolish Hearts recording and stay tuned as new songs are in development as you read this.
