File Type: HTML document text ----- Established in 2002 THE FOUNDATION RECORDS has become the premier Independent Hip Hop & R&B label in the city of Pittsburgh. The Foundation Records first release Big Russ 'Verbal Assault' had the streets buzzing in the summer of 2003 with it's distinctive sound and flava. With little marketing behind the project the album was still able to generate over 1,500 sales. With the street success of the album, and the effect of live shows the Foundation was awarded 'BEST RAP PERFORMERS OF THE YEAR' in the city of Pittsburgh by WAMO 106.7 JAMZ, and the Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation. The Foundation has been able to attract a loyal fan base, and it's fast becoming one of the best Hip Hop acts in the game. The label consists of three M.C.'s and two R&B vocalists. The three M.C.'s are Big Russ, Destiny, and D. Reed. The Vocalists are Jay A., and Raquel Dymin. The label is currently working on it's second release 'THE GROUNDWORK PROJECT' which will be a compilation of the artists on the label. In a short period of time the Foundation is on the verge of taking the city of Pittsburgh to heights that no other artist or label has been able to do.
