F R A N K I E D E C A R L O S SINGER/SONGWRITER/MUSICIAN/PRODUCER Frankie DeCarlos, aka "THE PRINCE OF SOUL"... Frankie DeCarlos is the sensual sound of modern romance. He's a dreamer whose musical aim is more than entertainment, it's enchantment. With a strong international fan base and 5 albums under his belt- independently selling over 100,000+ units in the United States, Japan, Germany, & Great Britain, Frankie DeCarlos is making his mark in the music industry! There's something special about Frankie DeCarlos' essence- a peculiar soul, a sublime talent way beyond the title of singer/ songwriter. It's the natural charisma that sets Frankie DeCarlos apart, and his instinctive, heartfelt approach that immediately makes his future in the music industry very promising. Frankie DeCarlos has talent, great songs, and great stage presence, but most importantly, he has the gift of exciting people's souls. With the soul of musical versatility, he adds a new chapter to his life and recording career with the project entitled Human Man. Within weeks of it's international release, Human Man was #1 on the HOT TOP 10 Soul Digger Chart in the November 2007 edition of the highly raved Japanese music magazine BMR (Black Music Review). True to his adroit musicianship- he plays piano, organ, drums, guitar, and trumpet. He performed nearly all the parts on the Human Man sessions, following in the footsteps of his musical icons, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder, who became famous for their classic songwriting as well as their musicianship. Frankie DeCarlos' style is compatible with many genres of music, and he appeals to a wide variety of audiences, offering up what one German critic called "a sexy and exciting musician." Just give this kid a piano and a mic and it's on and poppin'! Although, Frankie DeCarlos' music is of a soulful genre, his crossover appeal spans age and culture- his audiences love him. Looking to the innovators of soul music, Frankie DeCarlos channels Soul Legends on his debut solo disc, Human Man. DeCarlos' music is a retro hybrid of soul & r&b. He lights a spark by merging the worlds of yesterday and today's sound with respect and class, creating God-fearing elements of traditional gospel, essential r&b, and immaculate jazz. In the style of his hero, Marvin Gaye, Frankie DeCarlos' music brings his deeply held spiritual & sexual beliefs to the forefront to explore the realities of everyday life & love. Some critics consider Frankie DeCarlos a mysterious modern day soul music trendsetter. Graced with confidence, poise, and a certain bashful-boyish charm, DeCarlos recalls the making of Human Man. "I did a lot of soul searching when creating this album. I wrote many of the songs at the age of 24. It's always fun working on a project when you love what you do- I had fun making the album." Frankie DeCarlos eagerly looked to the forefathers of soul for motivation throughout the venture. "I have pictures of Ray and Sam, Al Green, & the Isley Brothers...all of them on my studio wall- when I write and get stuck, depending on the song, I'll look up to one of their pictures and find inspiration." In fact, Frankie DeCarlos says that his sole intention in recording Human Man was simply "to free my mind and make some good cool music." Studying classicly "anointed" songwriters like Bob Marley and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, he searched for the basic ingredients of recording timeless tracks. The Human, Man era was similar to a spiritual awaking. "Every since I saw my life flash before my eyes in a car accident, I understand life and my purpose more. At any event, I just want to inspire the world and let people know that life is still worthwhile- you know, we must find love, we must find God," he says. Human, Man presents Frankie DeCarlos as a musically mature and innovative young man. The Human Man set includes artistic and self-expressive tunes such as the smooth and sensual falsettos of "Majik," the loving pledges of "Here 2 Stay," "Can't Get Enough," and the hot Michael Jackson influenced "Stay With Me". Other highlights on the CD include the very personal and ear catching, "Jesus Don't Hate," "I Would Still Choose You," "Let's Mess Around," and the soulful title track, "Human, Man," featuring the hot Atlanta based hip-hop new comer Poppy "the Chef". "I wanted to pay homage to the history of the black man in general on "Human, Man"; it was inspired by "the god father of soul", James Brown."
