Gideon: three different guys with three different tastes in music unite to form a lush, exuberant and soul-stirring sound. This is progressive rock at it's best! Gideon, with Polo Camacho on guitar, JP Buchanan on bass and Charlie Vasquez on drums, began writing and arranging music in 2004. They have slowly built up a loyal fan base by playing a variety of venues both in El Paso and surrounding cities. Skip ahead to winter of 2007. Gideon recorded their first demo, the fan-favorite Slowly, using Garage Band. Soon after they threw the song up MySpace. The guys began to tell their friends about the single and the word began to spread. One of their friends soon told them to "expect" a call from her father. The guys were soon contacted through their MySpace and invited to record at Martinsound in Alhambra, California. Shawn Micheal, the Vice President of Product Development for Martinsound and his team have worked with well-known bands such as The Killers and Death Cab for Cutie to name a few. Late 2007, Gideon recorded their first 6-track EP, which was released in Spring 2008 with the technical skills and help of Mr. Micheal and his amazing team. Polo, Charlie and JP all met while volunteering and working together for the worship band for their youth group, Oneighty. Originally, the three guys didn't get along. Ironically, their different tastes in music, styles and attitudes kept each other at arm's length. But their love for God and music slowly but surely brought them together. Charlie hits the drums not only with technical precision, but also with unparalleled energy. JP brings a raw passion to his bass playing and adds atmospheric background vocals. Polo strums his ambient guitars with fervency and completes the sound with soaring vocals. All this fieriness lays the foundation for cinematic themes and an uncompromising message that will leave you breathless and wanting more.
