Greg Brown learned to love music as a child in Alabama. His mother played piano at a local church and Greg had his first solo when he was five. His first guitar, a Silvertone, came along when he was twelve. He began writing songs soon after that, and continued performing and writing while attending the University of Alabama. He has lived in Ohio and now resides in North Carolina. In May of 2000, Greensboro, North Carolina chose one of Greg's songs, 'Standing Here (Greensboro)' as the city's official theme song. The song is now available on the CD 'Standing Here.' The music was recorded and produced by Thomas Rowan of Sound Lab Studios. Talented musicians from throughout central North Carolina are featured on the CD. Greg currently performs as one of the founding members of the acoustic music group, ABCND. He also plays and performs as a solo act.
