Gutterstar is made up of four guys who live for music. They are escape artists, and the songs reflect that. From pulsing rock anthems to haunting acoustic melodies, the songwriting is as diverse as the members. The band was formed in 2001 and in two years has become one of the best bands in NYC. In addition to building a solid local fan base, the band has self-produced two CD's, toured across the Northeast, and won a series of local awards. Drummer Jonas Lee has been recognized as one of the most innovative technicians in the business, and serves as the backbone of the band and their creative process. They are influenced by great songwriting whether it be classic or modern. Each song goes through months of revisions before it is even played for anyone outside the band. Their latest CD, 'In Transit' was released in 2002 and has sold out of it's first pressing. Vocalist Wyatt has been performing live since the age of 13 and is most often compared to poet/performers Jim Morrison and Jeff Buckley. Their single 'One by One' has received heavy rotation on college radio in Ithaca, Amherst, and Pennsylvania. The band is currently touring throughout the Northeast and has also dominated the most popular singles chart on MP3.com. Keep your eye on Gutterstar.
