Half-Pint Jones set out to record their follow-up, to 'Trilogy of Patches and Olaf', with a singular goal. To refine the compositions to the bare essentials. In other words, fine tune each song to be as direct as possible. Cut the fat, so to speak. As a result, most songs have been trimmed to about 3-4 minutes, and the end result is something that the band is very excited about. 'Single File'. With a background versed in many different styles of music, HPJ produced this new album to blend a multitude of colors and flavors, to achieve just the right balance of melody, harmony, rhythm, and space. A decision that paid off well, as each song has it's own individual voice on the album. From the opening track, to the closing note, this album will stand up through the test of time. With an ever changing world of music that moves so swiftly, and only occasionally looks back with a smirk and a wink, 'Single File' should garner a nod in it's direction for decades to come.
