The Heaves were formed in Park Slope, Brooklyn in 1998. The band's style of music has been compared to Social Distortion, Paul Westerberg, and Motorhead. We describe it as Country-Punk. The band has played all around NYC and up and down the east coast from North Carolina (Duke University) to Westchester (Iona College). The Heaves new CD 'Beggar's Ocean' is the third release from the band and features a cover version of Willie Nelson's 'On the Road Again'. The band's live shows have been described as high energy with no B.S. Some have thought of The Heaves as Johnny Cash meets Motorhead meets The Stones. We just play straight ahead Rock with a little twist here and there. We hope you like it!! The Heaves are: George Burke - Bass Ed Smallman - Guitar Patrick Smith - Vocals, Guitar Jimmy Sturges - Drums, Vocals.
